Educational App Design Process
My first experience with app design is the educational app project. To create the app (which works across Apple and Android platforms), I've used a free application called Gamesalad. The benefit of a program like Gamesalad is that it's very user-friendly for beginning app developers in that it has a lot of user-friendly interface options such as click-and-drag graphics placement that would otherwise take quite a bit of skill and knowledge to position with some form of coding. Unfortunately, Gamesalad is still in the beta testing phase, so even the friendliest of interfaces still has annoying kinks. Luckily, the educational app is primarily a navigational app with minor animations, so the design of it hasn't been too difficult so far. I've designed the interface in Illustrator, then imported the flat graphics into Gamesalad. Below are a few screenshots of the app development process in Gamesalad. My app educates people about how to process black and white film in a darkroom.
